Whether you are a parent or teacher simply looking to umpire your child’s matches or you want to make umpiring your hockey career, we hope these pages will assist your development.
Cairns Hockey Officiating Committee will be engaging clubs and members to recruit people into officiating while creating a stronger mentor and training support program for both senior and junior programs in 2020.
Officiating is a great way to develop a better understanding of hockey. Whether you’re a player, coach, parent or teacher, a better understanding of the rules will assist in all aspects of your game.
Officiating Committee always needs more volunteers to assist – the current committee is:
Create a local pathway for officiating and umpires starting from introductory programs all the way to elite pathway opportunities through.
- developing and supporting mentor programs for junior and senior umpires
- aligning with state and national programs
- providing accreditation opportunities
- providing pathways to regional and state competitions
